Since 2022, Britain has got a new king – Charles III. We have got many films and books about his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, but what image of the new king have we got? What do we really know about him?
First of all, King Charles has got a very important and hard political role – to represent (представлять) his country all around the world. He has got a difficult job – to help his country and meet world leaders. His mother had a very private life and almost mysterious aura around her, but Charles III has got a more open life style. He has got strong ideas about solving (решение) problems like climate change.
As for the king’s own family, he has got a wife – Queen Camilla, and two sons with very different characters. His older son Prince William has got a big role in the royal (королевская) family. He has got the title (титул) of Prince of Wales. Prince William has got a wife and three children who are always in the public eye (на виду у всех). Charles's younger son Prince Harry has got a life away from Britain now; he has got his own family in California. The king has got hope that one day his family will be happy together again.
Speaking about the king’s interests, we have to note (должны заметить) that he has got a few interesting and surprising (удивительные) hobbies. Charles III has got a big garden where he grows plants (выращивает растения): he has got a deep love for organic farming and environmental protection (защита окружающей среды). Charles has also got a talent for watercolor (акварель) painting; he even hasgot professional exhibitions (выставки) of his pictures of nature. He has got love for classical music and traditional architecture as well.
In his personal life, Charles has gotrather (довольно) simple tastes and habits. He hasn't got much interest in modern technology or social media. Every day the king has the same breakfast – muesli and fruit.
Health-wise (что касается здоровья), the King has got some problems like many men his age. Sometimes he has got problems with his back, and now he has gotcancer (рак). But Charles has gotenoughstrength (достаточно сил) and energy to continue his work.
So, what image have we got of King Charles? We have got a modern king with old traditions. We have got a man who loves nature and art. We have got a king with health problems but a strong heart. Britain has got a new king for the modern era: he has got a strong sense of duty (чувство ответственности) like his mother had, but he has also got his own unique style of leadership (руководство).
